Virginia Rae Baker, 82, of Arma, died at 10:02 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2021 in the Arma Nursing and Rehab in Arma.
Virginia was born June 13, 1939 in Farlington, a daughter of Vaughn W. and Ella M. (Buffalow) Russell.
She grew up and attended school in Farlington.
Virginia married Ronnie R. Baker, Sr. on October 7, 1954 in Wichita. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Virginia was a homemaker, and she enjoyed her family, fishing, singing gospel music, long walks, and dancing. She was a very kind hearted mother and wife and she attended the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters; Leanna Adams of Franklin, Danna Summers of Osawatomie, Kansas, and Tracy Stacy of Kansas City, Missouri; her sons, Ronnie R. Baker, Jr., Gregory S. Baker, Troy D. Baker, and Routy D. Baker, all of Pittsburg; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a few great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Reavahun Carnall of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Norma J. Ewan of St. Paul, Kansas, and Nancy Methvin of Lincoln, California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by a son, John J. Baker; a grandson, Joshua S. Adams; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn B. Adams; a brother, George E. Russell.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Farlington Cemetery in Farlington with Pastor Randy Woods officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. There will be a luncheon at the United Methodist Church in Farlington following the services.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2:00 p-.m., Tuesday.
