FORT SCOTT, Kan. – The Court orders the dismissal of a lawsuit between the City of Fort Scott and a City employee.
According to the lawsuit, Rachel Pruitt alleged sexual discrimination, harassment and retaliatory conduct of employees with the City. It also claimed the City Commission failed to properly investigate, address and remedy the situation.
Pruitt is the Economic Director for Fort Scott.
On Sept. 7, 2021, the Court ordered the above lawsuit dismissed with prejudice. Court documents stated, “COMES NOW the parties, by and through their respective counsel and files this Joint Stipulation of Dismissal with Prejudice, with each party to bear their own costs as all matters in controversy between Plaintiff and Defendant have been fully and finally resolved in the underlying matter..”
No other details of the dismissal are released.
Pruitt had also been facing charges of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia. Those charges have since been dismissed without prejudice.
