David Clarence Waggoner, age 81, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born November 13, 1939, in Stotts City, Missouri, the son of Clarence Henry and Ollie May (Means) Waggoner.
David was a 1957 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran stationed in San Diego, California and spent one year aboard the USS Ranger CVA-61. He worked for MWM Color Press in Aurora for over 30 years and was a cattle feed salesman for Moorman’s Manufacturing for 10 years. He was a member of the Fundamental Methodist Church in Aurora.
On January 6, 1961, he married Charlotte Louise Robbins in Monett, Missouri.
David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte; one daughter, Diana Rauch and her husband, David, of Springfield, Missouri; one son, Darren Waggoner and his wife, Ann, of Aurora; four grandchildren, Luke Rauch of Willard, Missouri, Gabriel Rauch of Springfield, Missouri; Lakin Waggoner of Aurora, Missouri and Lindsey Baker and her husband, Donovan, of Republic, Missouri; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Shelba Parker and her husband, Glen, of Aurora, Missouri.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ollie; one son, Dwain Waggoner; one brother, Dale Waggoner and one sister, Wanda Wilson.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Clay Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021, in the funeral home chapel.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Clay Hill Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
