Laurel “Lori” Renee Murphy, age 63 passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Freeman West in Joplin.
Lori was born May 16, 1958, in Milan, MO daughter of the late Gilbert and Joanne (Wolfe) Peters. In 1994, Lori was united in marriage to Edward “Eddie” Murphy. Eddie and Lori spent 30 years from the time they first met until her passing. She worked as a hairdresser for many years and also had her license in insurance for a short period of time. She loved going to Hobby Lobby and ordering things off of amazon to decorate her home. Lori loved old school rock n roll and some classic country music. She loved dogs. She was very family oriented and had a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone, especially family. Lori was a beautiful, loving, kind person with a gentle soul. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Murphy; two daughters, Kayla Sword and Christine Schlesselman; one brother, Tim (Michele) Peters; two sisters, Terri Smith and Lisa Wood; grandchildren, Rockie Elise Robeledo, Charlee Renee Robeledo, Ava Schlesselman, and Axton Schlesselman.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
