James A. “Jim” Brown, 79, of Parsons, passed away at 1:03 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Jim was born on August 9, 1941 in La Harpe, Illinois to Releford and Ruby (Carnes) Brown. He grew up in La Harpe and attended schools there.
He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed reading, fishing and listening to country music. Jim served in the United States Marine Corp.
He and Elaine Ball were united in marriage and later divorced.
Survivors include four daughters, Dawn Pecha, and her husband, Dave, of Parsons, Tina Corliss and Gary Abbe, of Parsons, Charlotte Gant,and her husband, Robert, of Parsons, and Kimberly Lambert, of Mesa, Arizonia; two sons, Keith Brown, and his fiancé, Mandi, of Rush City, Minnesota and Travis Myers of Parsons; special friend, Deborah Sommer, of Rush City, Minnesota; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Keith Lloyd Brown, and a grandson, Tyler Corliss.
