Jimmy Easter

Mr. Jimmy Leon Easter, 74 of Southwest City, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at his home after an illness.

 

Jimmy was born March 6, 1947 in Delaware County, OK to the late Robert Leon and Mildred “Frosty” Iren (Drake) Easter.  Jimmy grew up around the Southwest City area and graduated from the high school in Southwest City in 1965.  After graduation Jimmy faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. On March 8, 1969 Jimmy married Jeanette Garvin in the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Mo and to this union three children were born.  Jimmy was a jack of all trades but most of his life worked as a carpenter.  He enjoyed welding, woodworking, logging and spending time with his family.

 

Jimmy is survived by his wife Jeanette of 52 years, a daughter; Kimberly Walker and husband John of Gravette, AR, two sons; Jimmy Leon Easter, II and wife Traci of Cave Springs, AR and Robert Easter and wife Cherie of Douglas, GA, one brother; Bob Easter of Maysville, AR, four sisters; Cheryl Howe and husband Mike of Southwest City, Linda Hart and husband Richard of Southwest City, Peggy McCloud and husband Gene of Gravette, AR and Sandy Holt and Husband Allen of Jay, OK, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Leon Easter will be held Friday, July 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Pastor Mark Hall officiating. Those honoring Jimmy by serving as pallbearers are; Keith Lindquist, Kip Lindquist, George Spurling, Shawn Wright, Rick Lett and David Collingsworth. Burial with Full Military honors will be in the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri.   The family will receive friends Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Southwest City, Missouri. In lieu of flower the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
