Myrtice Delphine Hunter

Myrtice Delphine Hunter, 97, a resident of Miami passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Windridge Care and Rehab. Myrtice was born on March 16, 1924 in Lawrence, Kansas to Horace and Alta Murphy. Mrs. Hunter worked for many years as a nurse for Eastern State Hospital in Vinita. After her work at the hospital she worked as a caregiver for many families in the Ottawa and Craig County area. She loved traveling, reading books and gospel music. Myrtice loved her family being with her kids and grandkids. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in passing by her husband Delbert Hunter, her parents, her children Lena Kay Graves, Dale Hunter and Abby Hunter.

Survivors include her children Douglas Runyan, Stephen Hunter and his wife Debbie of Welch, Delbert Hunter Jr. and his wife Debbie of Phoenix, Arizona, Terry Hunter and his wife Betty, Debbie Ann Chartiae of Neosho, Leslie Hunter of Kansas City, Missouri and Patty Wright and her husband Mike of Bluejacket, Oklahoma. Myrtice is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grand children and great-great grandchildren along with her niece’s nephews and other relatives and friends.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Mrs. Hunter at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Mound Valley Baptist Church, west of Miami.
