Gerald Dean Jeffries, age 61 of Wichita KS, passed away on July 16, 2021 at Wesley Medical Center.
Gerald was born in Lawrence, KS on December 24,1959 to Gerald Jackson Jeffries and Dorothy Jean (Brannin) Jeffries. He graduated from Oswego High School. Shortly after graduating, he followed in his Fathers footsteps and began a lifelong career of 40 years with Ludeman Insulation as an Industrial Insulator. Throughout the years, he was promoted to a Supervisor position and was still presently working for the same company. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent much of his time in nature. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf, but his greatest joy was found in spending time with his family and friends.
He was united in marriage with Carolyn Louise (Wright) Jeffries on September 29, 1979 in Oswego. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Gerald Jackson Jeffries; four daughters, Mary Stagner, Setiva Lyda (husband, Jeremy), Jennifer Jeffries, and Rebecca Jeffries, all of Wichita; his mother, Dorothy Jean Jeffries; four sisters, Glenda Bundy (husband, Bob) of Topeka, KS, Sharon Frink (husband, Jim) of Lawrence, KS, Rebecca McGrane (husband, Jim) of Kingwood, TX, and Sonja Searl (husband, Tom) of Sugarland, TX; as well as 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Jackson Jeffries; and one brother, Christopher Jeffries.
Visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Oswego. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Oswego.
