Latest Updated Blog: Weekend severe threat. -Doug

I hope you had a fantastic week and looking forward to the weekend like I am.  Weather has been pretty good, just a little on the hot and humid side.  We do have some thunderstorms increasing for the weekend and a severe threat which always stinks but really does on a summer weekend.  Tonight looks fine but I am watching some storms to our north.  I do think we will start to get some scattered thunderstorms into the area during the morning hours.

I am really expecting scattered strong thunderstorms during the morning and afternoon, but hit and miss.  However, I don’t expect much in the way of severe weather during the day.  I think the better chances will be during the evening hours.

As a cold front rolls in, thunderstorms will increase during the evening hours.

During the evening, the storms that develop will be strong to severe.  Now the main threat of any storms will be wind and hail.

Thunderstorms continue through the evening with a severe threat.

However, after midnight, everything should calm down and we look much better.  Additional scattered storms on Sunday, but not looking for these to be severe.

Rainfall will be tricky due to the storms being scattered.  But I do think most of us will fall into the 1/2-1″ range.

A few lingering scattered thunderstorms into Monday as well.  Long range forecast is below.
