OTTAWA COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two people were killed on June 7 in a collision near Afton, Oklahoma.
Authorities say the crash happened just before noon at the intersection of 220 road and 500 road 1 mile northwest of Afton.
The driver of one of the vehicles and his two passengers were pinned under the other vehicle and first responders used the Jaws of Life to free them.
That driver, 48-year-old Douglas Goodner of Skiatook, and one of his passengers, 59-year-old William McWhirt of Sand Springs, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Goodner’s other passenger was air lifted to Joplin, MO in Fair condition.
The other driver refused treatment at the scene.
Authorities say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
