Shirley Ann Minson of Commerce, OK passed from this life Thursday, June 3, 2021 at her home. She was 87.
Shirley was born April 23, 1934 in Tulsa, OK to Leslie and Martha Alveta (Kelsey) Moore. She had lived in the Miami and Commerce area all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School class of 1952 and attended N.E. O. A&M College in Miami, OK.
She worked at Minson’s Market in Commerce, OK, for Judge J.J. Smith and for the District Attorney’s Office at the Ottawa County Courthouse. She was an Administrative Assistant at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, OK and for Regency Home Care, retiring in 2002. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Commerce, OK and served on the Board of Directors’ for The Friendship House in Miami, OK.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband James William Minson in 2001, her parents and 1 brother, Larry Moore.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Maria Grindstaff and husband Brian of Springfield, MO and Diahann Wiford and husband Kenny of Miami, OK, 1 brother, James Moore of Commerce, OK and 3 grandchildren, Nathaniel Keith Grindstaff, Faith Loukaylee Wiford and Makenna Briane Logan.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Commerce, OK. Rev. Danny Showen and Pastor Howie Moss will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Oklahoma. Brian Grindstaff, Nathaniel Grindstaff, Kenny Wiford, Glen Wiford, Jamie Ohler and Bill Hames will serve as pallbearers. Mark Linn, Dan Collard, Wyman Grindstaff and B.J. Thomas will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call on the family at the family home in Commerce.
