Billy Gene Kelly of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Thursday, June 3, 2021 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. He was 72.
Billy was born June 2, 1949 in Baxter Springs, KS to Earl C. and Juanita (Johnson) Kelly. He had lived in the Quapaw area all his life and graduated from Quapaw High School Class of 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Billy had worked for Yellow Freight in Baxter Springs, KS for over 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the National Sporting Clays Assn.
Billy was preceded in death by a son, Dusty Kelly, his parents and his father-in-law Richard O. Barnett.
Survivors include his wife Linda Kelly of the home, 1 son, Chad Kelly and wife Candice of Quapaw, OK, 2 brothers, Bob Kelly and wife Teresa of Quapaw, OK and Mike Kelly of Quapaw, OK, mother-in-law, Alzada Heatherly of Quapaw, OK and 3 grandchildren, Camaron Kelly, Carsyn Kelly and Caylee Kelly.
Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Geoff Buffalo will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
