We made it to another weekend! I hope you had a great weekend and of course a fantastic weekend. Overall the weather looks pretty good. We are going to have nice temps into the 80s, but we are going to see some thunderstorms increasing. However, if you are heading to the pools, creeks, rivers or lakes, most of the weekend looks pretty good. We have a big ridge of high pressure out to the west which is giving us the great temperatures. We do have a cut off low down in Texas, this is what will increase our thunderstorms.
As this little low heads toward us over the weekend, it will increase our moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, giving us afternoon pop up storms. Now, I still think most of us stay dry Saturday, but we will have some scattered thunderstorms.
By Sunday afternoon, these will be much more numerous as that upper low moves right overhead.
This will give us afternoon scattered thunderstorms. Some of these storms could be stronger with some small hail, but we don’t have a ton of dynamics to get much severe weather.
Most of these scattered thunderstorms will pop up in the afternoon hours and then die down by sunset. Chances for thunderstorms stick around each day with this moisture sticking around. Besides that, a pretty typical June pattern. Long range forecast is below.
June 13th-19th: A little cooler with mild temperatures to start the week. Warm temperatures return by the middle of the weekend and into the weekend. Also, a few thunderstorms to start the week on Sunday. Additional thunderstorms Wednesday through Friday.
June 20th-26th: A hot first half of the week with temperatures dropping back to warm the second half of the week. Warm would be 80s, hot is above 90 degrees. Scattered thunderstorms back around the second half of the week.
June 27th-July 3rd: Heating up this week with mainly hot temperatures. Scattered thunderstorms as we work into the holiday weekend.
