WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Biden administration announced plans for the U.S. to share 80 million covid-19 vaccine doses with countries around the world. The shipments of excess vaccines are expected to help with shortages in places like India, which is battling a devastating outbreak, as well as Latin America, Asia and Africa. In the U.S., the White House is trying to reverse a slide in vaccination rates.

MIAMI, Okla. – Ottawa County investigators say two jail detention officers snuck contraband into the jail for an inmate. Authorities say officers Kody Redden and Justin Hayworth would check drop spots at the jail to pick up drugs and deliver them to inmate Ethan Coombes. Coombes is one of four other people charged in the case. The other three are Jose Reyes, Jaleigha Bendure, and Jahir Gonzalez. Bendure and Gonzalez have not been found. Authorities say Coombes used the jail’s video messaging service to contact the other suspects to get the drugs and drop them off for the jailers to pick up. Jailers involved in illegal contraband case

PURCELL, Mo. – Someone set a fire at the Purcell City Hall. The Jasper County Sheriff says it happened early Thursday. The fire was contained to a small drop box outside the building. There was minimal damage. The Jasper County Sheriff says an investigation uncovered a possible suspect, but at last report no one was arrested. The suspect is described as a woman with long hair and a medium build who was in a red passenger car. Sheriff’s Office investigates arson at Purcell City Hall

NEOSHO, Mo. – Residents start a petition calling for the removal of a local dam. The petition calls for the dam at Lime Kiln Park to be removed, citing the recent deaths of Kaylin Brown and Trevor Hicks last week in the same area of Shoal Creek. The city of Neosho though says they’re already working on a project that will make the dam safer. They’re working with several agencies to turn the dam into a “rocky ramp dam”.
