Christy Ruth Donnell

Christy Ruth Donnell, passed peacefully from this life and into the presence of Almighty God on Wednesday afternoon, June 2, 2021 at her home in Monett, surrounded by her family and in the hearts and thoughts of the family who could not be there.

Christy was born May 19, 1971 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Her and her twin sister Tammy were adopted by Eldon and Doreen Babcock.

Being the daughter of a Free Methodist pastor and church planner, Christy and her family lived in several locations, both in Canada and in the United States.

Christy attended Central Christian College in McPherson, KS and later Spring Arbor College in Spring Arbor, MI, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in social work.
On August 6, 1994, Christy was joined in marriage to Patrick Donnell, and together they lived a life full of love, laughter, trials and beautiful memories until her passing.

Christy is survived by her husband Patrick, of Monett; her mother, Doreen Babcock; her father, Reverend Eldon Babcock; two sisters, Tammy Babcock-Krentz and Joleen Steele; one brother, Lyndon Babcock; as well as many extended family and friends.

Christy lived life fearless and fierce, and enjoyed the simple pleasures. She especially loved dogs, and was a proud mom to many canine children in her lifetime.

A service to celebrate Christy will be held Wednesday, June 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Monett Church of the Nazarene, with Reverend Chris Carver officiating. Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, June 8th from 6-8:00 p.m. also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, 301 Euclid Ave, Monett, MO.
