The first flights from Joplin’s new air service take off

JOPLIN, Mo. — Three new flights took off from the Joplin Regional Airport as part of the city’s new air service.

City officials welcomed the first plane, arriving from Chicago, with water cannons.

United Express and SkyWest Airlines are offering daily flights to and from Chicago, Denver, and Houston.
