Julia Ann “Judy” Hopkins of North Miami, OK passed from this life Saturday, May 29, 2021 at her home. She was 76.
Judy was born October 13, 1944 in Picher, OK to Carl and Opal Mae (Cole) Chazell. She had lived in the Picher and Miami area all her life. She was a waitress working at Vicky’s Café in Picher, OK and Charlie Brown’s in Galena, KS.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Danny Chazell and Rick Chazell and 1 sister, Sue Carver.
Survivors include her husband Mike Hopkins of the home, 2 sons, Joe Hames, Jr. and wife Irene of Commerce, OK and Greg Hames and wife Bonnie of North Miami, OK, 2 daughters, Dara Hames of North Miami, OK and JoAnn Hames of Miami, OK, 2 step-daughers, Roneita Baines of Wyandotte, OK and Misty Hopkins of Miami, OK, 4 brothers, Gary Chazell of Las Vegas, NV, Steve Chazell of Miami, OK, Brad Chazell of Florida and Randy Chazell of Baxter Springs, KS, 3 sisters, Linda Chazell Coleman of San Diego, CA, Phyllis Chazell Walton of Galena, KS and Vickie Chazell Lyerlra of Quapaw, OK, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 4 great – great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021 at Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, KS Rev. Rusty Chazell will officiate. Ryan Dunbar, Tayler Grube, Richard Mackin, James Mackin, Lance Hyatt and Levi Scrivo will serve as pallbearers. Jonathan Lucas, Adan Hames, Able Hames, Lane Dunbar, Caleb Erwin and Kutter Erwin will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
