FAIRLAND, Okla. – A Fairland, Oklahoma woman is dead following a crash in Ottawa County. Authorities with the Oklahoma State Highway Patrol say it happened just before 6:00pm yesterday evening on State Highway 125. They say a vehicle driven by 42-year old Karin Roach crossed the center line and collided with 39-year old Alicha Smalley. Roach was pronounced dead at the hospital. Roach’s two juvenile passengers and Smalley along with her two juvenile passengers were last reported to be in fair condition.

JOPLIN, Mo. – As more people get covid vaccines, some wonder about the future of possible booster shots. Health officials say it’s still too early to know for sure what a booster shot schedule may look like, but trials are already underway. Some early data suggests that covid boosters will be required annually, as variants develop. There’s also been a lot of confusion when it comes to HIPAA and vaccines. Over the last couple of weeks, many retailers have dropped mask requirements for customers and employees who have been fully vaccinated. Several people believe businesses can’t ask if you’ve been vaccinated, claiming that would be a HIPAA violation. But the director of Compliance, Quality and Risk Management at Access Family Care says that’s not the case. She tells us HIPAA applies to health care providers, insurance agencies and health clearinghouses.

MONETT, Mo. – Vandals leave around a half-million dollars in damage at the Monett, Missouri football field. Someone painted the field with bright orange spray paint. Crews tried to clean it up. They used different methods, including old fashioned elbow grease. But no luck, officials say the field will have to be replaced. The cost of a new field is around 500-thousand dollars. School officials say they’ve filed a claim with their insurance company, which has been approved. They’re now in the process of getting it replaced.
