Henry Patrick Simmons, age 63, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at
4:35 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born November 8, 1957, in Wynn, Arkansas, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Julie Ann (Jenkins) Simmons.
Big Pat was a self-employed farmer and handy man. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, cooking, and he attended the Faith Full Gospel Church in Aurora.
He was married to Diane Ruth Williams and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2012.
Big Pat is survived by his fiancée’, Sherry Toric, of Aurora, Missouri; three sons, Pat Simmons and Clarissa Ballot of Anchorage, Alaska, Derick Simmons of Forrest City, Arkansas and Chris Simmons and his wife, Holly, of Missouri; two sisters, Ruth Griffin of Marked Tree, Arkansas and Lois Burns of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one brother, Sonny Simmons of Marked Tree, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Big Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Julie, his wife, Diane, two daughters, Angela, and Julie Simmons, one son, Bobby Simmons, one grandson, Montana Simmons, three brothers, Bobby, Ted, and Benny Simmons, and two sisters, Sheila Hammond, and Martha Rich.
A graveside, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at the Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas.
