Martha Faye Testerman

Martha F. Testerman, 83, of rural Bartlett, passed away at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arno Testerman, on April 15, 2019.

Martha Faye Stapleton was born on July 30, 1937 in Oswego, Kansas to Fred and Marchie (Sprouse) Stapleton. She grew up in Oswego and graduated from Oswego High School in 1955. She first began working in the office of the Labette County Register of Deeds. From 1962 until 1966, she worked in the County Clerk’s office. In 1966 she began working at the Bartlett Co-Op Association where she worked for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

Martha was a member of the Bartlett Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

On January 25, 1958, she and Arno L. “Onnie” Testerman were married in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple lived in Bartlett until purchasing their farm in 1976 south of Bartlett where they have lived since.

Survivors include one son, Randy Leon Testerman and his wife Deborah Ann, of rural Bartlett, KS; three granddaughters, Carmen, Emily Faye Layton and husband Heath, and Randi Lynn; great grandchildren, Paden Lay and his wife, Stormy, Loren Stice and her husband Kaleb, Cameron Reitemeier and her husband Ike, Deakyn Hendrix, Dominique and Saylor Layton; and great-great-granddaughters, Macey and Harper Lay.

Graveside Funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Lake Creek Cemetery. Friends may sign the register from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Bartlett Christian Church.
