Mark Stephen Perez

Mark Stephen Perez, 66, of Parsons, died at 7:51 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park.
He was born May 30, 1954, in Parsons, to Mike and Connie (Gonzalez) Perez. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1972. After high school he moved to Wichita and worked in retail while taking classes at Kansas Newman College. He moved to Kansas City and began a career in construction for almost 30 years.

Mark returned to Parsons where he assisted with maintaining his childhood home and being the live-in caregiver to his parents. His experience in retail and construction along with learning about small engine repair from his dad made it a perfect fit when he started working at Ace Hardware in 2015. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help you out.
Mark loved to golf and was also an avid baseball and football fan. He loved his Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubbies and Kansas City Chiefs. Mark also loved to cook and was famous for his cheesecakes.

Surviving are four brothers and two sisters – Jim Perez (Carla) of McKinney, TX, Bob Perez (Luci) of Parsons, Gary Perez of Parsons, Greg Perez (Vanessa) of Allen, TX, Becky Jacquinot (Ray) of Parsons and Marisa Seferovich (John) of Olathe and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.

A private family funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, with Rev. Curtis Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Friends are welcome to view and sign the register at the funeral home Wednesday until 8 p.m., and Thursday morning.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church restoration fund. They may be left at or sent to the funeral home at Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
