Charles (Chuck) Shearhart has gone fishing in heaven after unexpectedly departing this mortal world on April 10, 2021.
Chuck was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1955, and grew up in Coffeyville, Kansas. He recently retired from Eagle-Picher in 2020 after 35 years of service and accumulating more friends than we can count
He filled his recent years with friends and family, pursuing his love of fishing and listening to classic rock albums excessively loud.
In March 1989, Chuck married Jami Walker in Joplin. Chuck and Jami were married just over 30 years. Jami preceded him in death in August 2019.
Chuck was also preceded in death by his parents Jay and Helga Shearhart, brother and sister-in-law John and Janet Shearhart, and sister-in-law Cheryl Capps.
He is survived by his daughter Mariah (Matt) England of Colorado, granddaughters Hannah and Madison (due May 2021), mother Joan Shearhart of Coffeyville, sisters Lynn (David) Bumgarner and Judy (Phil) Neely, both of Coffeyville, brother Bryan (Juli) Masters of Wichita, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and faithful variety of pets his generous heart could not say no to adopting and feeding.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned at a future date. Memorials to honor Chuck’s life may be made to the Joplin Humane Society.
