Lois Gardner

Lois Gardner, age 89, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 10:18 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at her home. She was born June 13, 1931, in Marionville, Missouri, the daughter of H.V. and Loretta Dell (Buchanan) Wells.

Lois was a 1949 graduate of Marionville High School and worked as a Phlebotomist for 21 years for St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was a member of the Southern Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and writing music with The Corridors Musical Group.

On December 12, 1951, she married Joe A. Gardner, in Harrison, Arkansas.

Lois is survived by her husband of 69 years, Joe; one daughter, Pamela Hanawalt and her husband, Curtis and one grandson, Zakary Hanawalt and his wife, Gabrielle, all of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, H.V. and Loretta and two sisters, Betty Etheridge and her husband, Ralph, and Doris Wells.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the Osa Cemetery, southeast of Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
