Gordon William “Bill” Cooper, 59, of Monett, MO, passed away on Sunday morning, April 4, 2021 while at his home.

Bill was born on July 17, 1961 in Chicago, IL, son of Robert John Cooper, Sr. and Gwendolyn June (Tindall) Cooper. Bill graduated from Addison Trail High School, Addison, IL, with the class of 1980. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Northern Illinois University. Bill was a lifelong scholar, always desiring to learn and loved being with his family and friends. Bill attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett.

Survivors include his mother, Gwendolyn Cooper, of Monett; his step-mother, Nancy V. Cooper, of Algonquin, IL; his brothers, Robert John Cooper, Jr. and Mike Cooper and wife Rhonda, of Monett; his niece, Brittni Seufert and husband Zac, of Pierce City; his great-niece, Kendall June Seufert, of Pierce City; and his nephews, Michael Cooper and fiancée Audrey Bebout, of Springfield, MO and Matthew Cooper, of Monett.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert John Cooper, Sr.

A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Bill will be laid to rest at a later date in Chicago, IL. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Clark Center in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
