Norma Jean Hudson

Norma Jean Hudson, 84, formerly of Joplin, ran into the arms of Jesus completely healed and happy, on Friday, March 5, 2021 at CoxHealth in Branson, Missouri.

Norma was born December 5, 1936 in Webb City, Missouri to the late Cecil Peters and Frankie Bell (Wickizer) Peters. She was the seventh of ten children, and the strong bond she shared with her sisters and brother noting on earth could break.

On top of being an outstanding homemaker, Norma spent many years caring for children in her home. She worked at Motorola from 1971 to 1984 where she was admired for ability to excel at even the most difficult tasks.

Norma loved games, puzzles, and playing cards. She enjoyed many, many hours around the kitchen table talking, teasing, laughing, and playing with her family. She enjoyed country and gospel music-watching Larry’s Country Diner and Mike Huckabee, and enjoyed the sermons of Dr. Charles Stanley as well as her favorite game and reality shows.

Norma was very generous and had a compassionate heart. She loved to help people in any way she could, especially those who had no one else. Those who knew her well knew she was not only fun, but the most patient and forbearing woman on earth. She loved Jesus and was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Joplin, remaining there as a faithful prayer warrior for many years, praying for her family and strangers alike. Her greatest love was her three daughters and she enjoyed the time she got to spend with them creating many cherished memories. She loved holidays and celebrations and always made them special with little gifts. She adored babies and children and was blessed by each and every little one God brought into her life. Norma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her prayer and the deepest desire of her heart was that her family would remain close and love one another, and she was a wonderful example to them of faithfulness, loyalty, and love.
