Merrill “Bud” Baker Jr.

Merrill “Bud” Baker Jr., 84, a resident of Miami, Oklahoma passed away at Saint Francis Heath Systems in Vinita, Oklahoma on Friday, March 5, 2021. Bud was born in Iola, Kansas on December 19, 1936 to Merrill Baker and Louise (Brown) Sigler. Bud loved to take care of his family and provided for them by being a workaholic. When he was not working, he loved to go bowling and camping. Bud was a man of faith and loved to sing and you could often hear his whistling from across the church. He was an avid story teller and loved to laugh and make others smile and take the load off of others if he knew it could make their lives just a little bit easier. During his 84 years he held many positions such as President of RSES chapter of Miami, Oklahoma and served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. Above all else he loved his family and friends. Bud is proceeded in passing by his parents Merrill Baker and Louise (Brown) Sigler, brothers James Baker, David Baker, Allen Baker, Carl Baker, sister Shirley Baker.

Those who are left to share Bud’s memory are wife Deborah of the home, sons Kevin Baker, Merrill Baker III, Ramsey Baker, Timothy Baker, daughters Barbara Riksen, Patricia Hillsburg, Leetta Baker, brothers Gary Baker, Kenneth Baker, Jimmy Baker, Francisco Baker, sister Louise Weohr and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

There is be a visitation Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Northwest Assembly of God in Miami, Oklahoma.
Private family services will be held later.
