Hearing set for Empire District Electric pilot program request

JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Public Service Commission has established the hearing schedule in a case filed by The Empire District Electric Company (Empire). Formal evidentiary hearings are scheduled for June 22-23, 2021.

Empire seeks Commission approval of a portfolio of transportation electrification pilot programs. Empire states the proposed portfolio of pilot programs is designed to accelerate electric technology adoption and provide utility customer, grid and societal benefits. Empire proposes an initial pilot term of five years.

Formal evidentiary hearings will be held by video and teleconference via WebEx.

Participants are to appear at the hearing telephonically via WebEx video and telephone conference.

The hearing will also be live-streamed via the Commission’s website at www.psc.mo.gov . Interested persons who will not be actively participating in the hearing should access the hearing via the live stream.

Empire serves approximately 155,400 electric customers in the Missouri counties of Barry, Barton, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Hickory, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton,
Polk, St. Clair, Stone and Taney.
