Susan Avalina “Ma and Nana” Lewis, age 63, of Asbury, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home.

Susan, daughter of Ottmar and Mary (Lovell) Mitchell, was born on August 15, 1957 in Joplin. On May 18, 1980 she was united in marriage to Ronald Edward Lewis in Jasper, TX. Susan worked in landscaping. She enjoyed crafting but she enjoyed her time spent with loved ones, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald “Mudhole” Lewis, of Asbury; three sons, Huey Lewis, and his wife, Sheba, of Joplin, Dewey Lewis, and his wife, Kimberly, of Asbury, and Jason Bitticks, of Asbury; grandchildren, Naomi Stephens-Lewis, Liza Lewis, DaKota Lewis, Jasper Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Markus Lewis, Logan Lewis, Gideon Lewis, Nolan Lewis, Hannah Alexander, and Cheyanne Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Thornhill-Dillion Mortuary in Joplin. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors and may be entrusted to the mortuary.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
