GREEN COUNTY, Mo. – A sheriff in rural Missouri says the bodies of a Greene County father and his two young children have been found after they were reported missing Friday. Derrell Peak… 3-year-old Mayson… and 4-year-old Kaiden… were last seen Thursday. Their bodies were found near a highway in Benton county where a deputy had found Peak’s abandoned vehicle earlier. The State Highway Patrol says the father suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts. His family says he’d been behaving out of character. And, employees at a casino in Miami Oklahoma say he withdrew money Wednesday saying he wanted to start a new life with his kids.

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Joplin City Council votes to make changes to the city’s covid response and recovery plan. Council members last night took up the plan at their regular meeting. After discussion, council voted to make two changes to the plan. One, to remove the mass gathering restriction of 250 people, and two, to remove the social distancing requirement for all restaurants and churches in the city.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri Governor Mike Parson has freed up 281 million dollars that he previously blocked from being spent. Governor Parson said state finances have improved since the coronavirus first hit the state allowing him to release the money. It includes $123-million for K through 12 public schools. Governor Parson initially cut $438-million from the state budget over concerns that the virus would tank the economy and mean less state revenue for the year. He’s been releasing chunks of that funding as the economy has improved. The $281-million dollars Governor Parson released yesterday was the last of Parson’s remaining spending restrictions.

JOPLIN, Mo. – Weather changes will eventually bring the chance for severe weather. Today the Four-States will conduct there statewide tornado drills. The are set for 10:00 am. Officials recommend you take this opportunity to practice your sheltering plans and ensure you’re ready *before* a storm.
