Matthew Joseph Warford, 48, passed away on February 16, 2021 in Broussard, LA. He was born in Miami, OK. on April 1st, 1972.
He is survived by his father and stepmother Bobby Dean Warford and Theresa Fambrough of Purdy, Mo, his mother Rose Mary (Ruybal) Stump of Denver, CO, one brother Ron Warford of Mesa, AZ, niece and nephew Jessica and Caleb Warford as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many dear friends.
Matt was successful in several positions throughout his life. His first job while in high school was at the Mall Deli in Pittsburg, KS where his signature sandwich “The BIG MATT” is still a regional favorite today. He also worked at the mall’s arcade, and Danny’s Place before beginning work at Monsour’s Produce Company where he met his lifelong friend Pete Monsour. Matt started as a truck unloader before moving into Customer Service and Buying. From there he took a job with Sysco Food Services and moved to Norman, OK from August 2002 – October 2010. He left Sysco for a promotion with Van Eerden Food Service Distribution in Grand Rapids, MI as Director of Purchasing and Marketing from November 2010 – January 2014. He left Van Eerden Foods to begin working for Information Technology Consulting Company as Sales Operations Director from July 2014 – July 2017. Missing the Food Industry and his Sysco family he decided to move to New Orleans, LA to again work for Sysco Food Services as Merchandising Director. Following that he moved to Broussard, LA for a promotion to VP of Merchandising. In total Matt has worked for Sysco for 12 years of service.
