Bonnie Raye Dodson

Bonnie Raye Dodson, 76, a longtime Miami resident passed away at her home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Bonnie was born in Picher, Oklahoma on January 11, 1945 to Harold Dwight and Emma D (Rodgers) Harrington. She graduated with the class of 1963 from Fairland High School and then with her Associate’s Degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College with the class of 1965. On November 27, 1965 she married her love of Fifty-two years Gene G. Dodson at Fairland First United Methodist Church. Bonnie worked at the Department of Human Services until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, sewing, and never missed watching an Oklahoma State football game, but mostly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Dodson was preceded in passing by her parents Harold and Emma Harrington, her husband Gene Dodson a brother and her granddaughter Emma Rose Henson.

Survivors include her children Keena Dixon and her husband Jimmie of Jasper, Arkansas, Regina Laxton and her husband Kenny of Gladewater, TX, Kalynn Henson and her husband Brian of Miami, Richard Dodson and his wife Brandi of Joplin, a sister Ila Faye Boyd of Fairland, she is also survived by her grandchildren Keelee Dixon, Mikaela Madison and her husband Chris, Kenna Schaeffer and her husband Jon, Zane Laxton and his wife Sierra, Kelby Henson, Kaleb Dodson, Jadon Dodson and Alyssa Dodson along with five great grandchildren Adylynn, Aiden, Jett, Beau and Lenox. She also leaves behind a host of family and close friends.

Visitation for Bonnie is 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairland.

Graveside Services will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Fairland Cemetery with Pastor Daryl Lee officiating.

The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Integris Hospice in Bonnie’s name.

Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
