Oklahoma officials want residents to report winter storm damages

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Oklahomans who suffered winter storm damages are being asked to report those damages to the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

The damages that are reportable include flooding from broken pipes, power surges that caused damage to furnaces, electrical systems, or major appliances, the number of days without water, gas, or electricity, the number of days displaced by the winter storm, and any injuries sustained as a result of the winter storm.

Officials say reporting the damage helps the agency document the overall impact of the storm and help push its case for further assistance to help homeowners, renters, and business owners recover. You can report damages online at damage.ok.gov.
