Newton County Food Basket Brigade Kickoff – November 24th

The 28th Annual Newton County Food Basket Brigade will hold their official kickoff at Clark Funeral Home (312 S. Wood, Neosho) on Tuesday, November 24, at 11:00 A.M.Goal for 2015 is to provide 120,000 lbs of food to approximately 1,200 families.  Monetary donations are being accepted to help purchase perishable items to complete the variety of foods to be distributed. SEK-CAP accepting applications for rental assitance starting November 30th

The Southeast Kansas Community Action Program (SEK-CAP), will begin accepting applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program on November 30th, 2015 and will continue to accept them until further notice.The Section 8 HCV Program assists qualifying individuals and families with rental subsidies based on household income.  To potentially qualify for assistance, an applicant’s income must fall below the HUD Section 8 rental assistance program guidelines, which is …
