KDOT repairing concrete panels on U.S. 400 in Wilson County
This week the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) began work to remove and replace faulted or broken concrete panels in the driving lanes on U.S. 400 in Wilson County, southeast of Fredonia. The project starts just south of the roundabout at the junction of K-47 and U.S. 400 and extends south and east to the Wilson-Montgomery county line. Morning Jolt: Scripps Spelling Bee ends in tie — again
For the second year in a row, the Scripps National Spelling Bee ended in a tie. Vanya Shivashankar, 13, of Olathe, Kansas, and Gokul Venkatachalam, 14, of Chesterfield, Missouri, were named co-champions after spelling every word thrown at them. This is the second year in a row there has been a tie. Before 2014, however, there hadn’t been a tie since 1962.
