Today in the News: May 2014 was hottest May ever recorded

“The majority of the world experienced warmer-than-average monthly temperatures, with record warmth across eastern Kazakhstan, parts of Indonesia, and central and northwestern Australia.” – Report from NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center. The report said May 2014 was the hottest May for Earth on record (dating back to 1880). The U.S. had only the 32nd warmest May on record, but the places mentioned above more than made up for that.
