Probe, court battle cost Joplin taxpayers nearly $90,000

The city of Joplin spent more than $8,000 in an effort to keep secret parts of a report by a private investigator that led to the firing of Mark Rohr as city manager. Legal fees paid by the city in a lawsuit filed by the Globe to obtain the withheld information totaled $8,083.60, according to a city response to an open records request by the Globe.
