The defendant in a Joplin carjacking case may have turned his trial inside out Tuesday with a claim that he and the alleged victim were sexually involved and planning to rob a casino together when she suddenly turned on him. Damien D. Doxley, 36, of Jefferson City, apparently cast enough doubt among some members of the jury of seven women and five men that a split decision resulted in the single-day trial in the case moved to Pineville from Newton County.
