State approves historic preservation of Webb City, Monett downtown districts

The downtown districts of Webb City and Monett have been given the green light for possible inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. Their nomination to the national register, made possible Friday by approval from the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, could ultimately open up the districts to state and federal tax credit eligibility, which leaders in both cities hope will encourage renovation and rehabilitation projects, and economic development.
