The downtown districts of two Southwest Missouri towns are under consideration for historic preservation status. The state of Missouri will review applications from Webb City and Monett seeking to place their downtown historic districts on the National Register of Historic Places. Qualifying properties that are listed on the national register can become eligible for state and federal tax credits contributing up to 45 percent of improvement costs.
