Report: Army to be cut back to pre-WWII levels
According to the New York Times, the Army will cut back forces to levels not seen since before World War II. The move comes as a budgetary measure and is backed by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel. The Army was around 570,000 troops after 9/11, and the plan would reduce the number to about 450,000.
